We’re growing fast and looking for a dynamic team to grow with us.  The customer service & shipping specialist’s role is to make in-person sales to customers who stop by, package orders to be shipped direct-to-consumer, and receive visitors and take phone calls. 

We’re looking for a person with a pleasant demeanor, the ability to talk with all different kinds of people, and willingness to pick and package small orders to be shipped direct to consumers. 

The ideal candidate has customer-facing retail, sales, or restaurant experience, is comfortable being interrupted, generally calm and pleasant, and socially broadminded and tolerant; our clientele is incredibly diverse. 

This person will also need to be organized enough to quality check orders, schedule pickups from USPS and UPS, answer phone calls, and receive and deliver messages for the management team, be aware and mindful of price shifts and inventory levels. 

We expect this position to grow into a full-time position by the end of the first year, but initially it will be 25 hours a week. We also offer opportunities for advancement, and pay increases based on performance.

Hours: Part-time, Monday through Friday 12 - 5 p.m, beginning in mid-late September or early October. 

Reports to: Manager on duty

Wage: Hourly, depending on experience, starting at $13


Responsibilities

  • Pick, pack, and organize online orders
  • Answer phone calls
  • Take legible messages for management team
  • Receive visitors
  • Sell products/process payments for walk-in customers
  • Screen salespeople
  • Protect valuable office time for managers

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to use web-based order-filling software (with training)
  • Ability to use a personal computer, telephone, and printer
  • Patience, Calm, and Kindness even under stress

  • Works well with minimal supervision
